We created a multisensory exhibit called Founding Fossils that displays content in both visual and tactile modes. The exhibit tells a complex story that involves art, history, science, and technology.

Assessing Attitudes of Blind Adults about Museums

We conducted an online survey that collected data about the museum experiences of 124 adults who are blind or have low vision. This paper documents strategies that survey participants employ to gain information about the content of exhibits despite facing access barriers to their participation.

Exploring Sonification: Representing Data With Sound

The Georgia Tech sonification lab defines sonification as representing data with nonspeech audio. Sonification is an effective communication method because the auditory system excels at pattern recognition and distinguishing signals from noise. Sonification creates an alternate way to engage with complex visual data.

2023 In Review

As 2023 rapidly draws to a close, I am highlighting my best posts from last year and mentioning some of the exciting plans that I have for next year.
